We’re halfway through regulation time of the 2024 UEFA Champions League final, folks. Has everyone caught their breath yet?
Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are still locked level at 0-0 but it was hardly a half without incident.
It was quite the first 45 over at Wembley. Before the game even started, we were treated to some Lenny Kravitz. Even if not everyone was a fan.

Nothing against Lenny Kravitz but he’s just silenced the Yellow Wall which was in full footballing voice. Hard for organisers but the music acts really kill the football moment. pic.twitter.com/D7LNX056JF

Moments like this you just long for a Lenny Kravitz gig

And even when the match did get underway, it had to be stopped again. Not one, not two, but three pitch invaders managed to evade security within the first minute!

Hate this “we’ve chosen not to show you the pitch invader” you’re a sports channel not the news! just show everyone what they want to see !

Good thing Wembley didn’t just spend a bucketload on improving security, right? Right? Right?
That went well… https://t.co/CixuVOlMg5

A reminder tonight is the biggest stewarding operation in Wembley history. https://t.co/aueFBpI6e8

Wembley security might be the worst of all time, genuinely got these types of people on the doors: pic.twitter.com/cWjQiu5hKg

When the football got properly going, it was in fact Dortmund who looked the stronger side. Firstly, Mats Hummels picked out the run of Karim Adeyemi in behind, but the forward took his touch too wide of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and his eventual effort was denied.
First Karim Adeyemi, then Niclas Fullkrug…
Borussia Dortmund have been on top in the opening 30mins and came SO close to opening the scoring.

ADEYEMI… HOW?!?
That ball from Hummels 🤯

Mats Hummels btw is one of rare few CB’s who’ve gotten better with age, what a player.

Soon after, Niclas Fullkrug struck the post while Adeyemi spurned another opportunity to put Dortmund ahead.

We’ve seen this story before.
Adeyemi had a one on one, Fullkrug hit the inside of the post and Real Madrid still aren’t behind.

BVB were furious when Vinicius Junior, already on a booking, appeared to take a dive and was spared his marching orders.
How has Vinicius not been booked and sent off for that atrocious dive?
— Just Jack (@Perkinz9) June 1, 2024
Ridiculous that. Vinicius should be off.

After four minutes of stoppage time, the referee blew for the break. Everything’s still to play for.
