Chelsea are set for a “big push” to sign a Premier League player amid news of a glaring transfer opportunity, which Todd Boehly and BlueCo are seriously considering taking full advantage of as they plan for the summer window.
Chelsea targeting new centre-back for Enzo Maresca
The west Londoners activated their re-call clause to bring Trevoh Chalobah back to Stamford Bridge in January, but the Englishman unfortunately picked up an injury in their 2-1 defeat away to Aston Villa last weekend.

The west Londoners are looking to potentially poach their Premier League rivals.
Chalobah will be out for around a week to 10 days, according to Maresca, which will come as a blow considering both Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana are also unavailable for Chelsea selection right now.
“He had a check yesterday, and it will be around one week or 10 days,” said Maresca on Chalobah’s injury.

“On one side it is good because it is not an important injury and on the other side, it is a shame because we lose another player in this moment with the number of injuries we have.”
Signing more top-class centre-back options is a transfer objective for Chelsea in the summer window, with big names and lesser-known targets already being mentioned by sections of the press.
After internally discussing the possibility in January (Fabrizio Romano), Chelsea are billed as favourites to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, with a move for their former defender said to be on the cards.
“I had some scepticism when I first saw they [Tottenham] went in for him. I’d heard nothing about it. I have some reasonable contacts, but it wasn’t something I’d heard before all of this. the likelihood is that Marc Guehi would choose to go to Chelsea,” said journalist Dean Jones at the start of February.
“I’ve heard that for a long time now, and that will probably still be the case if Guehi leaves Crystal Palace at the end of the season then that’s where he ends up.”
Meanwhile, another Premier League sensation in Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is also seriously attracting Chelsea’s attention, according to reliable west London reporter Simon Phillips.
Chelsea expected to make “big push” for Dean Huijsen
The former Serie A starlet has been a revelation under Andoni Iraola for the Cherries this season, and news recently emerged that Huijsen’s contract includes a £50 million release clause, which will become active this summer.
Phillips writes that Chelsea are on high alert over Huijsen as a result, alongside a host of other elite English sides, and they’re expected to make a “big push” for his signature at the end of this season.
“Our source says to ‘expect a big push’ for Dean Huijsen at Bournemouth this summer,” wrote Phillips, via his Substack.
“As reported elsewhere, he can be picked up for his release clause of £50m this summer, but Chelsea will have real competition for him.”
The 19-year-old Dutchman currently ranks among Bournemouth’s top five best-performing players per 90 in the league (WhoScored), having formed an excellent partnership alongside Illia Zabarnyi.
