In what is yet another injury blow, one Aston Villa youngster is now set to be out for an indefinite period following his latest setback as the end of the current campaign continues to approach.
Aston Villa injury news
Whether it’s been Amadou Onana, Pau Torres or even Ollie Watkins at times, Aston Villa have certainly had their fair share of injury problems throughout the current campaign, feeling the full effects of Champions League football. Unai Emery‘s squad looked particularly exhausted against Crystal Palace last time out, as the Eagles produced a shock 4-1 victory at Selhurst Park.
The fixtures don’t stop coming thick and fast from there, either, with the visit of Cardiff City coming up this Friday for the chance to advance into the last eight of the FA Cup, before a Champions League last 16 first leg to contend with against Club Brugge less than a week later.

More frustration for Emery…
So, to say that the Villans could do without further injury news would be quite the understatement. When it rains, it pours, however, and that’s exactly what those in the Midlands have just received.
As confirmed by Hull City, Louie Barry has now suffered his latest injury setback and will now be out for an indefinite period of time, having returned to Aston Villa to complete his recovery.
The Tigers released a statement on the Villa loanee, saying: “Aston Villa loanee Louie Barry is set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee cartilage injury. The 21-year-old, who has made four appearances since joining in January, was withdrawn in the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Sunderland.
“The forward will return to his parent club Aston Villa to undergo rehabilitation, with the Tigers hopeful that he could feature for Rubén Sellés’ side again this season. We wish Louie all the best for his recovery.”
Injury comes at frustrating time for “superb” Barry
After playing a starring role for Stockport County and putting himself in conversations over League One’s best player, Barry deservedly earned a mid-season switch to Championship side Hull following Villa’s decision to recall their youngster.
Dubbed “superb” by Jacek Kulig as a result, he would have been desperate to leave his mark once again in the Championship, only for injury to strike just four games in.
After missing 30 games through injury for Stockport last season too, the 21-year-old could have done without another lengthy absence. With just 12 games remaining in the Championship and Hull sat just three points above the dropzone, Barry’s injury also comes at the worst time for the Tigers.
Whether he can return in time to help save Selles’ side remains to be seen.
