Arsenal have now been contacted by the agents of an “unbelievable” striker who’s scored 17 goals this season, ahead of a potential summer move, according to a report.
Arteta refusing to give up on title
Although his side are now trailing Premier League leaders Liverpool by 13 points, Mikel Arteta is refusing to give up on winning the title, saying: “Mathematically, it’s possible. You are there, you have to play every game. Suddenly, three days ago, we could close the gap and you are like: ‘You are one and a half games away.’ It doesn’t matter. We have to continue to go.”
That said, it is going to be a tall order to catch the Reds, who are showing no signs of slowing down, and the Gunners are now without a striker, with Arteta being forced to rely on Mikel Merino to lead the line after Kai Havertz’s season-ending hamstring injury.
The lack of a striker could end up costing the north Londoners, which underlines the need to bring in a top forward during the summer transfer window, and another option has now entered the frame.

According to a report from The Boot Room, Arsenal have been approached by the agents of Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, with the striker looking to leave the Italian club this summer, having fallen out with manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been made aware of Lookman’s situation, alongside the likes of Liverpool, West Ham United and Aston Villa, so there could be fierce competition for his signature.
Another report from Spain has suggested Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea could make a €45m (£37m) offer this summer, although Atalanta want more than £50m, with the Premier League now emerging as the most likely destination for the former Leicester City man.

“Unbelievable” Lookman in prolific form
The Nigerian has been utilised as a second striker and as an out-and-out centre-forward this season, and he has been in prolific form, netting 17 goals in all competitions, including a brace against Empoli in Atalanta’s last Serie A away match.
The 2023-24 campaign was always going to be a tough act to follow for the forward, who received high praise from reporter Dominic King for leading Atalanta to glory by scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final.
As such, Arsenal should undoubtedly make a move for Lookman this summer, but they may also want to bring in another centre-forward alongside him, given that the Atalanta star has more commonly played out wide throughout his career.
